Leonie Cohen is releasing a second album on our Jazzgroove Records label in June. She was invited to record for ABC’s Jazztrack in 2009. This recording will be released through Jazzgroove as “Leonie Cohen – Sideshow Pony”. It features a beautiful array of Cohen’s originals, and some outstanding interpretations of standards. Sideshow Pony is being launched at Sydney's 505 on June 28th |

Herbie Hancock – Trio ’81.
This album blew me away when I first heard it (and still does). Magnificent treatment of “Dolphin Dance” and in particular “That Old Black Magic”. Youtube |

Dianne Reeves - I Remember
Dianne Reeves is like modern Ella/Sarah. Her singing is exquisite. The arrangements of standards are outstanding. Particularly “Love for Sale”, with Billy Child’s great piano solo. Youtube |
 |
Oscar Peterson - Night Train
The first jazz CD I ever bought - a classic and still excellent. |
 |
Ella Fitzgerald – Clap Hands Here Comes Charlie
Superb. Ella’s vocal break in " A Night in Tunisia” is incredible.

Joe Chindamo – Anyone Who Had a Heart
Joe’s tone is beautiful – as are his arrangements (of Bacharach tunes). |
 |
Kenny Barron - live @ Maybeck Hall
Incredibly beautiful, honest, live solo piano playing. His rendition of "Spring is Here" is gorgeous. |
 |
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
One of my favourite pop artists and albums. A great mix of originality and kookiness. Love Rick Wakeman’s keyboard playing. Youtube |
 |
Me'Shell Ndgeocello – Peace Beyond Passion
Incredibly funky. Youtube |

J.S. Bach's 48 Preludes and Fugues (an array of recordings)
