James Greening - trombone, pocket trumpet
Andrew Robson - alto saxophone
Steve Elphick - double bass
Toby Hall - drums
James' world is one of interaction, intimacy and humour, an ultimately rewarding experience for the players and audience alike.
"James Greening's band makes music about truth, beauty, sadness, love, wonder and happiness ... they play for the love of it, and that can be heard in every note, every nuance of interaction." John Shand
8:30pm Andy Fiddes' Livewire

Andy Fiddes - trumpet
Jackson Harrison - rhodes piano

8:30pm Doig Trio
Glenn Doig - piano
Brendan Clark - bass
Dave Goodman - drums
Shimmering with immediacy but remaining ungraspable, Doig's music rises about the simplistic dualities of reason/emotion, masculinity/sensitivity, and morality/self-gratification. The trio's debut with feature the writing of Doig, plus his piano heroes Kenny Kirkland and Sean Wayland

Tuesday 24th March
Jam Session - Mike Nock Trio

Jazzgroove is thrilled to present the inaugural Jazzgroove WTFAW Jam, hosted by Sydney's finest trios. To be held on the Tuesday before each JGR album launch, this is a unique chance to hear the legends at play, and then play with the legends! Our first offering on the altar of jazz is the Mike Nock Trio, led by internationally renowned and locally feared (and respected) pedagogue, Mr Mike Nock. A true legend and a really nice guy, Mike will present a set of his music at 8:30, then the floor will be opened to all comers, provided they are Jazzgroove members.

"erasing the line between satire and beauty, managing to be mock-serious and rather exquisite simultaneously." - John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald
Jazzgroove Records is proud to announce the release of "Music To Dance To", the second album from Sydney band The Fantastic Terrific Munkle. As the title suggests, this could be seen as dance music, from swinging romps to delicate waltzes. There's also a bit of bluesy goodness, music from other lands, and seemingly other planets, all filtered through the unique Munkle lineup.
The members' past and present musical adventures include playing with such diverse acts as Monsieur Camembert, Mike Nock, Secret Chiefs 3, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Darth Vegas and The Tango Saloon.
